Better Fuel = Better Performance

For optimal athletic performance, we recommend drinking a green smoothie every day. Drink one first thing in the morning and you’ll never miss a day. If you are making fresh smoothies it should only take 5-10 minutes. As your body quickly absorbs the fresh fruits and vegetables you’ll receive a huge amount of nutrients. Remember, better fuel = better performance. This applies to race cars and human bodies. If you want to outperform the competition, this is a great place to add that competitive edge. Most athletes hate eating healthy with a passion. If you’re one of the few that decides to eat healthy, you just decided to take your game to the next level. 

The American Cancer Society recommends that we eat 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables each day to prevent cancer and other diseases. Green smoothies are a quick and convenient way to get your vegetables and leafy greens without tasting them. Try adding almond, cashew, or peanut butter to improve the flavor! Fruit can also help mask the veggie taste. So, even though all you taste is fruit, you are still consuming a healthy dose of spinach, kale and other assorted greens.  

Green smoothies are rich with chlorophyll which natural health experts say enhances the immune system, purifies the blood, and rejuvenates the body. It is one of the main reasons why these delicious drinks are touted by experts as being an excellent source of energy. Unlike fruit juices, green smoothies use whole fruits and vegetables. So, you won’t be missing out on any fiber and nutrition. Fiber is essential for good colon health as it keeps your bowels in working order. These smoothies will naturally combat constipation and help promote regularity. 

Green smoothies are packed with nutrients and are very low in calories. They contain vitamins, minerals, healthy carbohydrates, fiber and the low-fat whole foods you need to lose weight quickly and safely. They are also low in sugar which makes them a healthier option in comparison to traditional fruit smoothies and juices. 

Leafy green vegetables are full of antioxidants and carotenoids. These will help boost your brainpower! They are also full of B-vitamins, which are proven to help your memory, focus and overall brain health and function. They are also rich in folic acid, which improves mental clarity. Folic acid is also a natural antidepressant. Folate also helps fight memory loss and increases serotonin levels which can improve moods.

Clearer skin is another great reason to incorporate green smoothies into your daily routine. Smoothies are high in fiber and allow your body to eliminate toxins the right way instead of through your skin. The vitamin E found in green leafy vegetables works with vitamin C to keep skin healthy as you age. 

Drinking green smoothies is not only a great way to trick yourself into eating more vegetables, but it is also an excellent way to ensure you’re getting enough water. Many people don’t like the taste of water so they don’t drink the recommended six to eight glasses of water daily. If this sounds familiar, add more water to the mix as you prepare your smoothie. You’ll drink more liquids without even noticing. One of the best ways to build the habit is to start now and never stop. The first goal is two days in a row of green smoothies, then 3, then 4, and so on, and so forth.
